Skateland has been in the same family since the early 1940's, when Don and Laura (Mom and Pop) Jarrell owned and operated the rink on Midland Boulevard, with the help of their son, Jack, and their son in law, Al Mechling. In 1959, Mom and Pop retired and Jack Jarrell built the existing rink on Phoenix in 1962. Lots of things have changed since it opened, but one thing hasn't and that is the kids! They are what Skateland is  all about.
